I quit a well-paid crypto job to live in a van I converted myself. I went broke. Properly broke. Then I built a US$3M business.

What happened

In April 2022, at 26, I left a business development job at a crypto company that paid handsomely. I bought a second-hand van, converted it into a mobile office, and drove around Taiwan building a company that didn't have a business model yet.

The van part sounds romantic. It wasn't. I ran out of money.

The office, 2022. Built it myself. Everything I owned fit behind that seat.

When the borders finally reopened, I took a solo trip to Vietnam and decided to give the business one last shot — and pivoted.

It worked. Outo passed NT$100M in revenue in 2025 — around US$3M.

Today I lead a team of 15 across three countries. We run private small-group travel across Asia for people who want the trip without the 40 hours of research.

It started with wanting to travel wherever, whenever. It still does.

What I'm doing now

Being the architect of the projects built around my ideal way of life. Right now:

Scale
Making Outo the first travel company out of Taiwan to reach US$100M in private group tours. We're early on that road and I'd rather say it out loud than quietly.
Community
Building a circle of founders who actually learn from each other — not a network, a small group that goes the distance.
Destinations
Opening new places from the 60+ countries I've travelled. The list is long; the hard part is which ones survive contact with real operations.

I write about this as I go — the version with the numbers and the mistakes in it, not the LinkedIn version.
